Eagles Head To Easter Break with Doubleheader Loss to Cardinal Stritch
Elgin, Ill. The Judson University Softball team faced Cardinal Stritch on Saturday, losing both contests 2-0 and 12-2 (5).
In the opener, Cardinal Stritch scored single runs in the second and sixth innings. CJ Adams and Gigi Velazquez had multi-hit games for Judson. Gabbi Melchiorre, Sarah Herbert, and Britney Sanchez had single hits for Judson. Bella Lodico pitched seven innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits while striking out two and walking one.
In the second game, Judson's runs came in the third when Autumn Johanningsmeier and Sanchez had RBIs. Johanningsmeier brought in Adams with an RBI single, while Sanchez brought in Morgan Welch on a groundout. Johanningsmeier was the only Eagle with a multi-hit contest. Kennedy Dietz pitched 2.1 innings, allowing eight earned runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out two. Sophie Schomer pitched 2.2 innings, allowing four earned runs on six hits while walking two and striking out one.
Judson (4-18-1, 2-10 CCAC) faces St. Francis at home on Wednesday for two at 3:00 p.m.
