Recapping The Scholar Athletes Named For Men's Cross Country
Elgin, IL - After the fall cross country season concluded, the CCAC Conference, NCCAA, and NAIA released their 2023 Fall Scholar Athlete selections.
For The Eagles' Men's Team, junior Chase Ashcraft was named to all three lists. Ashcraft majors in Management, and posted a GPA over 3.900.
Junior Kyle Braund was also named to all three lists. Braund also posted a GPA over 3.900, and majors in Health Promotions & Performance.
This fall, junior Gage Fox was named to the CCAC Conference list majoring in Health Promotions & Performance.
Sophomore Chase Porsche was also named to the CCAC Conference list majoring in Mathematics.
The men's cross country team competed in six events this fall, with their top finish coming in the Trojan Invite on October 7th where they won first place.
The top time for Ashcraft this fall came in the Gil Dodds Invitational with a time of 29:53:1 for the 8K event. His top placement was 22nd at the Trojan Invite.
For Kyle Braund, his top performance was winning the individual 8K event at the Trojan Invitational. However, his top time was during the NCC XC Invitational with an 8K time of 27:12:8.
Fox saw a 6th place finish in the Trojan Invite, with a top time coming in the Seminole Valley Stampede with an 8K time of 27:46:0.
Finally, Chase Porsche posted a 3rd place finish at the Trojan Invite, with his top 8K time also coming at the Seminole Valley Stampede with a time of 27:02:1.
