Judson Cross Country Participates in the Midwest Intercollegiate
Bourbonnais, Ill. The Judson University Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams participated in the Midwest Intercollegiate on Friday which was hosted by Olivet Nazarene University.
It was the first time that the men's team ran at full strength this season. Juan Villagomez won his flight with a time of 17:40.80. Carlos Miranda finished top-10 in his flight with a time of 18:60.50. Jarret Godinez had a time of 18:08.60. Matthew Thompson (19:11.30) and Blake Weiss (19:32.30) had personal records for the Eagles.
On the women's side, there was an improvement by all members of the team from their race two weeks ago. Marie Mayer had a 20:10.50 time to lead Judson by winning her flight. Kasey Moreno (20:45.20) and Nayeli Cisneros (21:34.10) also won their respective flights. Cassidy Richter (22:36.60) and Laysha Hernandez (23:04.40) also had top-10 flight times.
"All things considered it was a productive afternoon for our program," said Distance Coach Cam Knudsen. "We saw improvement from both our men's and women's teams, and it was a day we can certainly build forward from."
Judson returns to action on October 10 in Cedar Rapids, IA in the Seminole Stampede.
