Eagles Cross Country competes in Fighting Bee Invite
The Judson Cross Country teams competed today in the Fighting Bee Invite, hosted by St. Ambrose.
The women's team placed 4th out of 8 teams in the 5k distance. Chloe Burkhart (SR/Elgin, IL) finished first for the Eagles with a time of 19:56.9 for 5th place overall. The lady Eagles placed 3 runners in the top 15. Marie Mayer (JR/Hampshire, IL) finished 11th overall at 20:12.4 and Anali Cisneros (SR/Elgin, IL) landed in 15th at 20:36.7.
The men's team competed in the 8k, but did not finish with a team score. Individually, Matthew Thompson (JR/Mount Horeb, WI) finished first for the Eagles and 25th overall with a time of 29:48.9. Michael Mikhail (SR/Elgin, IL) finished at 30:36.1 and Kyle Sieb (SR/Lake in the Hills, IL ) at 41:03.7 for the men.
"We had a great opportunity to compete this morning against a couple of our key CCAC rivals. Some of our runners met the challenge today but we need that response from our entire team, every time we compete," said Head Coach Joel Popenfoose.
The Eagles compete next on October 26th at the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede in Cedar Rapids, IA.
