Bio
Jake Wallin was named Head Coach of the Judson University Men’s Volleyball Program in June 2023. Prior to taking the helm, he served as the program’s first graduate assistant and later as interim head coach. Wallin earned his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2024 and also holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
As the longest-tenured member of the program, Wallin played as a middle blocker from Judson’s inaugural season in 2017 through his senior year in 2021. He was a team captain during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, and remains among the program’s all-time statistical leaders with 227 blocks, 373 sets played, and 545 kills.
In the 2024–2025 season, Coach Wallin continued to build a challenging schedule, competing against several top-15 nationally ranked teams while guiding the Eagles in their pursuit of a national title. That season, Judson hosted the inaugural NCCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship, finishing third overall. The program also celebrated its first-ever All-American—senior setter and captain Elijah Wrobel. Wallin was honored as the inaugural NCCAA North Central Region Coach of the Year and played a key role in earning back-to-back CCAC Team Champions of Character Awards. These honors reflect the team’s commitment to the NAIA’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.
During the 2023–2024 season, the Eagles posted an 18-12 record, opening the year by hosting three top-13 nationally ranked teams and earning their first CCAC playoff win at home against Trinity Christian College. In 2022–2023, Wallin served as interim head coach, leading the team to an impressive 21-7 season and a second appearance in the CCAC Championship. The year prior, as a graduate assistant, he was part of a 25-5 campaign during the 2021–2022 season.
Outside of Judson, Wallin has remained active in the volleyball community at both the high school and club levels. He served as a Varsity Assistant Coach at Woodstock High School, where he played a key role in leading the Blue Streaks to a historic regional championship in 2023—their first since 2006, ending a 17-year drought. He has also coached with Sky High Volleyball Club in Crystal Lake, IL, working with athletes at both the Junior Olympic and regional levels. His coaching has contributed to the development of players who have gone on to pursue opportunities at the NCAA Division I level.
Throughout his career—both as a player and coach—Wallin has demonstrated unwavering dedication to the sport and to the holistic development of his athletes. With a background in psychology and counseling, he brings a unique and thoughtful perspective to his coaching style. As head coach, he continues to lead with passion and purpose, leaving a lasting impact on the Judson University Men’s Volleyball Program."
