Judson Picked To Host Inaugural NCCAA MVB Championships
Greenville, SC - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announces a two-year bid with Judson University in Elgin, Illinois to host the NCCAA Men's Volleyball Championship. NCCAA Men's Volleyball is set to move to championship status for the first time in the sports history after spending 12 seasons as an invitational sport (2000-05 & 2019-24).
"As this event becomes a National Championship, we are excited for Judson University's partnership in this inaugural year," said NCCAA Executive Director Dan Wood. "Our sincere appreciation to President Dr. Gene Crume, Athletic Director Rick Williams, and the Judson community."
Judson University is partnering with the Elgin Area Convention and Visitors Bureau to host the championship in the Lindner Fitness Center. The fitness center, built in 1990 and named after Dr. Robert Lindner, is home to all Judson volleyball and basketball contests. The gym features a main gym floor, an auxiliary court, and a second level indoor track. In addition, the facility houses the athletic training rooms, fitness center, and weight room with locker rooms located on the first floor.
"The growth of men's volleyball has been a fruitful and welcomed addition to our athletic program here at Judson University," stated Athletic Director Rick Williams. "We are grateful for the opportunity to host the inaugural National Tournament for the NCCAA and look forward to promoting and supporting the overall growth and success of men's volleyball nationwide."
Elgin Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Sales Manager Ryan Cortez added, "Elgin is excited to welcome the NCCAA Men's Volleyball Championship over the next two years! Thank you to the men's volleyball program and athletic department at Judson University for their hard work and partnership to host the inaugural championship on campus this spring."
The city of Elgin is located 40 miles northwest of downtown Chicago and just 30 minutes from the O'Hare International Airport. Elgin's downtown offers a variety of fine dining options, unique architecture, and walkable arts scene. Judson University is in the heart of Elgin and the campus is known for its quiet charm and scenery.
