Palos Heights, IL Judson University concluded the NCCAA Invite on a high note as the Eagles swept their Saturday competition to take three of their four weekend matches.
Judson first had a five-set thriller against Carolina University after falling behind two sets (25-22,25-23,22-25,18-25,16-14). Elijah Gregg led the offense in kills with 17, had 13 digs, and recorded four service aces. Brendan Gibbons finished with 16 kills and added four digs, three block assists, and two service aces. Trevor Kozlowski recorded nine kills, two digs, and a solo block. Osiel Cruz finished with eight kills, led the team in digs with 14, had three block assists, and added an ace. Alejandro Martinez had seven kills in the match alongside eight digs and one solo block. Elijah Wrobel ran the Eagles' offense with 51 assists, 13 digs, six kills, three block assists, and a service ace. At the libero position, Jackson Otto was able to keep 12 balls off the floor, with three assists, and earning a pair of points from the serving line.
In the nightcap, the Eagles faced Maranatha Baptist once again. The Eagles swept the Sabercats for the second straight contest 25-6, 25-10, 25-13. Judson was led in kills by Kozlowski (now playing right side) with 12 kills. He also added two digs, one solo block, an assist, and a service ace. Both Martinez and Gregg finished with eight kills. Martinez racked up six digs and an ace while Gregg recorded six digs, a block assist, an assist, and a service ace. Brody Solbrig and Gibbons each had six kills. Solbrig recorded two digs, while Gibbons recorded two digs and a block assist. Cruz was able to add four kills to the stat sheet as well as six digs and a service ace.
Freshman libero Jackson Otto was recognized as an NCCAA All-Tournament Team member as he recorded 35 digs in 14 total sets.
Judson (3-1) officially starts CCAC play on Tuesday against Cardinal Stritch in Milwaukee.
