Carter Sets Conference Meet Record, Rodriguez Wins Women's Racewalk at CCAC Outdoor Championship

Joliet, Ill. -- The Judson University Track and Field Teams had strong individual performances at the CCAC Conference Championship this past weekend. Both teams had sixth-place finishes in the team scoring. 

 

 

Camren Carter set a new conference meet record and won the conference 110m hurdles title for the third time as he ran a 14.32 time. Beth won the women's racewalk with a 30:11.80 time.

 

Both the men's and the women's 4 x 800m relays finished in fourth place overall.  The women's relay featured Eva Serrato, Ella Richter, Danielle Gibson, and Kasey Moreno. The ladies finished with a 10:25.59 time, which was six seconds clear of the fifth-place finisher. The men's squad included Chase Ashcraft, Carlos Miranda, Jaret Godinez, and Dylan Bledsoe. Bledsoe made a strong move in the fourth leg to get the Eagles to the fourth-place spot. The Eagles finished four seconds clear of the next team.

 

Kyle Braund earned all-conference with a podium finish in the Men's 10,000m run. His third-place time was 33:32.37. Right behind him was Porsche, who finished with a 34:04.44 fourth-place time. Porsche moved into fourth about five steps from the finish line.

 

Other finishes included Dylan Bledsoe finishing fifth in the 1,500 with a 4:07.87 time. This is a significant improvement from his fifth-place finish at the indoor conference meet. Kasey Moreno had a fourth-place finish in the 5000m run with a 19:32.34 time, which is over 30 seconds better than her previous time this season.

 

"I was very happy with how we competed all weekend," said Distance Coach Cam Knudsen. "For me, the most important thing was that they were running hard and competing with whatever they had to give at the time. Many people doubled, tripled or even quadrupled events, and to have consistent effort all weekend speaks to the character of this team. We are extremely young, we only had one senior compete this weekend, so we're very excited for the future."

 

A few distance runners will be competing next weekend in Joliet at the Last Chance Meet. Camren Carter will be competing in the 110m hurdles at the NAIA National Championships in Marion, Indiana the weekend of May 24-26.
