Fitzgerald Wins Long Jump, Carter Wins Hurdles, and Several PRs Broken at Elmhurst Invite
Wheaton, Ill. The Judson University Track and Field Team finished its final tune-up meet prior to the CCAC Championship next weekend as the Eagles participated at the Elmhurst Invite. Judson had several athletes make significant contributions.
Zach Fitzgerald won long jump in a 28-athlete field with a 6.67 mark, which is also a PR. Dylan Bledsoe finished in seventh place in the 1500 with a 4:05 time. In the 3000, his final time was a 9:08 to finish in eighth place. Both times were personal bests.
Chase Porsche had a pair of seventh-place finishes. In the 3,000 Porsche had a 9:06 time. In the 1500, his time was 4:15. Both of these times were personal bests. Kyle Braund broke his personal best time in the 1500 by six seconds with a 4:23 time to place 31st overall. Camren Carter won the 110m hurdles for Judson with a 14.72 time, which was over a clear second ahead of the next competitor. Chase Ashcraft recorded a season-best time in the 800 as he finished with a 2:02 time to place 16th overall.
For the women, Danielle Gibson was eighth in the 800-meter race with a 2:32 time, smashing her previous personal best of 2:40. Cassandra Uribe placed second in the 400-meter dash with a 58.5 PR time to place second overall.
Judson participates next in the CCAC Championships on May 5-6 in Joliet.
