Track and Field Finishes Competition at Chicagoland Championships
GLEN ELLYN, Ill. -- On a bitterly cold day the men's and women's track teams competed in the Chicagoland Outdoor Championship meet on Saturday, April 9th after the meet was reduced down to one day of competition due to the weather. Both teams competed well in the meets coming out with three NCCAA qualifying marks and several outstanding performances from the relay teams and field athletes.
Overall the men finished 10th out of 16 teams with a team score of 18 while the women finished 9th out of 11 team with a final team score of 25.
"It was good to finally get out and compete after a long break from competition," said head coach Joel Popenfoose. "Our athletes were disappointed when last weekend's meet was canceled due to snowy weather. I was pleased with how well they prepared and how hard they competed on another cold day. We came out of this big meet with no injuries and some good performances to build on as we compete at Benedictine next weekend."
Among some of the great performances included Jennifer Donnell (SO/Schaumburg, IL) hitting NCCAA qualifying marks in both women's shot put and discus. Donnell placed second in shot put with a throw of 12.46m (40' 10.5") and sixth in discus with a throw of 35.85m (117' 7"). Kilee Hoffman (SR/Villa Grove, Ill.) was the second Eagle to hit a NCCAA qualifying mark with a javelin throw of 32.01m (105' 0") good for third place. On the men's side, Dan Becker (FR/Sheboygan, WI) finished seventh in pole vault with a finishing height of 3.8m (12' 5.5"), and Stephen Galloway (SR/LaPorte, IN) finished seventh in high jump clearing 1.78m (5' 10").
For the track athletes, Judson got top finishes from their relay teams. The women's 4x400 relay team of Lacey Heaver (NA), Svannah Henn, Taylor LoCoco (NA), and Guadalupe Machuca (FR/Carpentersville, IL) finished second with a time of 4:46.92, and the men's 4x400 relay team of Joseph Sipiorski (FR/Algonquin, IL), Tom Rohn (SR/Cary, IL), Cyrus French (SR/Elgin, Ill.), and Jordy Arriaga finished third with a time of 3:38.68. Also with a top finish included the men's 4x100 relay team of Marcus Hilding (FR/Omaha, NE), Tom Rohn, Jordan Bracero (FR/Mount Carroll, IL), and Cyrus French as they finished sixth overall with a time of 45.6 seconds. Cyrus French and Tom Rohn also had top individual finishes for the 400m dash as French finished sixth with a time of 52.42 second and Rohn finished seenth with a time of 52.66 seconds.

The Eagles will next compete in the Benedictine Relay's this weekend, April 15th and 16th, with Friday competition starting at 12pm and Saturday competition starting at 11am.
