The Judson University Athletic Department is excited to announce its new head tennis coach. Dan Dehaan will be the new Eagles' Head Coach for both the men’s and women’s teams.

Although this will be Coach Dehaan’s first official head coaching job, he still brings with him a ton of experience and knowledge. He has been a private tennis instructor for over ten years, and has helped run several successful summer tennis programs.

For Coach Dehaan, he is a tennis lifer. “I grew up in a tennis family where my father coached at high schools in the area.” Dehaan grew up playing competitively as a junior (USTA tournaments), and also played 1st singles all four years on the Elgin High School varsity team.

After high school, Dehaan was on scholarship at Cedarville University for the men’s tennis team from 2000-03. Achieving success, he got to play in the NCCAA national tournament, and made it to the finals as a doubles player. He was also named as an All American during his college career.

Once school was completed, Dehaan turned to the business world. “I was blessed to start a business - United Career Fairs in 2009. United Career Fairs has grown to one of the largest career fair companies in the country.  We provide a variety of staffing services to large and small companies nationwide.”

"Coach Dehaan has always had an appreciation for Judson University, the sport of tennis, and most importantly a deep love of Jesus Christ. We are glad to welcome him to our coaching staff, and look forward to the stability he will bring to our tennis program," says Athletic Director Rick Williams.

Dehaan has high goals and aspirations for the Eagles’ teams. He is going to bring his passion and energy to the courts in Elgin real soon.
