Eagles Take Down USF
Joliet,IL- The Judson University men's tennis team finished their regular season with a big 7-0 win over St. Francis (IL) on April 19, 2025. The Eagles came out strong in doubles and kept that momentum going in singles, playing confident and focused tennis from start to finish.
In doubles, Joshua Bavich and Chadd Kerrigan looked sharp at the #1 spot, winning 6-2 with solid teamwork and quick points at the net. Right after, Brock Dawson and Florian Koppitsch dominated their #2 doubles match 6-0, barely giving their opponents a chance. Their energy and communication helped set the tone, and Judson took the early lead.
The team carried that momentum into singles, where they stayed in control. Kerrigan kept things rolling at #1 singles, winning 6-2, 6-1 by playing smart and staying consistent. Cesar Otondo Villafan had the closest match of the day at #2 singles, battling through a tough second set and winning 6-3, 7-6 with a great tiebreak.
Niel Hentrich had a strong performance at #3 singles, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 win with steady play and good court movement.
With the win, Judson ends the regular season on a high note. Next up, they'll play in the conference tournament semifinal on Thursday against Olivet Nazarene. It's a big matchup, and the Eagles will be looking to keep the momentum going and earn their spot in the championship match.
