Kissimmee, FL The Judson Men's Soccer Team battled in their second match of pool play at the NCCAA National Tournament down in Florida against Southwestern Christian. After a tough loss the previous day, the Eagles started the match aggressively and were the first to put a goal on the board. The lead got away from Judson and by the end of the 90 minutes were eliminated from the tournament taking a loss 4-2.
Scoring the first goal for the Eagles was scored by Pedro Botello off an assist from Samuel Chavez in the 22nd minute. Continuous fouls and set plays from both sides filled the following ten minutes but eventually resulted in an opposition goal from a freekick and a breakaway chance leaving Judson down 3-1 at the half. Twenty minutes in, SW Christian was able to add another to the scoresheet. That did not stop the Eagles from taking one back in the 88th minute scored by Alan Sanchez off a pass from Gabriel Trevisan. Both teams had 7 shots on goal and goalie Mateo Ojesto was able to keep three of them out of the back of the net keeping the Eagles into the game for most of the competition.
This was the final game for the Eagles this season as they finished with an overall record of 8-8-5. Judson this season showed thier efforts on and off the field competing in both the post season CCAC tournemtn and NCCAA Tournment with a win in the NCCAA North Regional Championship. Multiple Eagles were named to be scholar athletes this season with thier hard work in the classroom. We look forward to see what Judson Men's Soccer has in story in the coming seasons and congradulate the program and thier efforts this year.
