Senior Night Was a Success As Eagles Complete Regular Season With a 3-0 Victory Against Saint Xavier

Elgin, IL The Judson University Men's Soccer Team competed for the second time on the new and improved Dawson Field for the program's annual Senior Night celebration. The result of the match was a 3-0 victory for the Eagles. Athletic Director Rick Williams announced the following seniors for their contributions to the Men's Soccer Program: Alan Martinez, Adrian Bravo, Jose Cruz, Rafael Rocha, Martin Wainstein, Pedro Botello, Van Zuala, Anthony Montesinos, Andy Renteria, and Fernando Amador. The team has assured their position in the CCAC tournament with the #5 seed.
The Eagles started out slow in their goal-seeking endeavors as they moved the ball around the field for most of the first half. Both sides could not seem to find a valuable opening on goal until the 34th minute. Pedro Botello was able to score a goal off a perfect pass from Rafael Rocha. This goal set the tone for the rest of the first half going into the second half. in the 42nd minute, Martin Wainstein was able to put pressure on the defense by taking on a defender one-on-one to score a curling shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner. Moving into the second half, the next goal in the match did not come until later. Approaching the 80th minute, Wainstein was able to score his second for the night off a pass from Matheus Duarte to eventually finish off the match with a 3-0 victory.
The defense of Judson as well as the goalkeeping of Mateo Ojesto kept the team ahead at all times allow relieving pressure on the attackers and midfielders. Ojesto kept a clean sheet for the Eagles saving three shots on goal of the nine shots in the match.
Congratulations to all the Seniors who were celebrated after the game. Judon will continue their journey post-season as they will travel to Holy Cross on Saturday in the CCAC Quarterfinal.
