Crystal Lake, Ill. The Judson University Men's Soccer Team played in a tough, hard-fought game against NCCAA foe Bethel University (IN) on Wednesday. The Eagles, despite leveling the contest twice, eventually fell to the Pilots 4-3.
Martin Wainstein tied the game in the 23rd minute off a beautiful cross from Inigo Capellan. Bethel scored twice in the next 10 minutes to take a 3-1 lead. Judson scored on a penalty from Rafa Rocha in the 35th minute to pull within one. Martin Wainstein scored off a rebound in the 71st minute to draw the score even. But eight minutes later, Bethel scored the decisive goal.
Wainstein led the team with two shots on target and three shots overall. Rocha and Capellan each had a shot on goal for Judson. Pedro Botello, Alan Sanchez, Pablo Escobar, Samuel Chavez, and Anthony Montesinos had shots for the Eagles. Alan Martinez made two saves in the contest.
Judson (0-3-1) faces Governors State on Saturday to begin CCAC play at 2:30 PM.
