Eagles Get Back On Track On Alumni Day
Elgin, IL - After a small rough patch, the Eagles were able to get back on track on Alumni Day at the Lindner Center. The JU Men's Basketball team defeated Calumet 72-56 snapping a small skid. The Eagles also took down the Crimson Wave back in November. With the win, Judson sits 7-11 overall, and 4-6 in CCAC play. Every win in conference play is crucial as the middle of the pack is closely bunched together.
The first half was a fast-paced half with the two teams trading small leads. In half number two, the Eagles were able to put some distance between themselves and Calumet. JU's tough defense limited the Wave to just four points during an 8-minute stretch in the second half. The second half was a battle down low on both sides of the floor.
For the Eagles, Javaris Wiggins got back to his 20-point ways, leading all scores with 23. His backcourt counterpart, Anterrious Rhyan set the table with 10 rebounds and six assists.
In the game, Judson also went 14-15 from the free throw line which helped preserve the victory.
The grind of a win was a special one as it was in front of a crowd with several Alumni in attendance.
The Eagles will take the court next on Wednesday night when they host St. Xavier.
