Davenport, IA - After back-to-back narrow defeats, the Eagles finished the deal on Saturday afternoon in Iowa. They defeated St. Ambrose 75-69. With the win, JU is now 3-8, and 2-3 in CCAC play.
This game saw another strong performance from Javaris Wiggins leading the way with 23 points. It is is fifth straight game of 20+ points, and 7 out of 11 games overall.
Gavin Alston also added 20 points. Three players also posted double-digit rebounds with Sam Stewart grabbing 12, Cee Jay Nwosu with 11, and Alston with 10. Bruce Fields' squad closed the first half on a nice run, and led by as many as 13 early in the second half.
The Eagles shot 40% from the floor and really saw an uptick in their free throws going 15-18 comparred to their last game. Judson also played a cleaner game only committing 12 turnovers.
Judson has been playing tough ball the last few games, and it was nice to finally get one in the win column to see the hard work pay off.
The Eagles will now head into break before returning to the court on December 30th against Goshen inside the Lindner Center.
