Eagles Bench Leads Offense in 100-67 Loss to Olivet Nazarene
Elgin, Ill. The Judson University Men's Basketball team had 45 of their 67 points coming off the bench in a 100-67 loss to Olivet Nazarene.
Leonard Wilson led the way with 21 points on 7-11 shooting (including going 5-8 from behind the arc) and adding a pair of free throws. Isiah Burd scored 18 points on 8-16 shooting and added five rebounds, two steals, and an assist. Slayde Huntley added a three-pointer off the bench, while Trey Spires had two points, three assists, and a rebound. Jack Keller led the starters in scoring with 13 points on 6-13 shooting. He added three rebounds and a block. Anterrious Rhyan scored six points and added two rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Nehemiah Jones had three points and three rebounds.
"We didn't follow the game plan of attacking the paint to pass tonight. Olivet packed it in the lane since they weren't as athletic as us, but we couldn't adjust to getting more movement on the weak side and swinging the ball quicker," said Head Coach Bruce Fields. "[Tyler] Schmidt showed why he is a front-runner for the CCAC player of the year [35 points, eight rebounds]. He was a man out there."
Judson (5-20, 3-14 CCAC) has their penultimate home game on Saturday as the Eagles face Governors State at 3.
