Burd, Wilson, Keller Lead Judson Scoring in 86-76 Loss to St. Francis
Elgin, Ill. The Judson University Men's Basketball Team continued its three-game homestand on Saturday as the Eagles fell to St. Francis 86-76. Judson had three key leading scorers that guided the Eagles in a roller-coaster second half.
Isiah Burd shot 8-12 from the field (1-2 from downtown) and made a pair of free throws to finish with 19 points to lead all Eagles in scoring. Additionally, Burd had two assists, a steal, and a rebound in the contest. Leonard Wilson was strong in 18 minutes off the bench for Judson as he made 5-8 field goals--including making 4-5 from behind the arc--and made 3-4 free throws to finish with 17 points (Wilson also had a rebound). Jack Keller made six field goals and added two assists, a steal, and a rebound as he finished with 13 points in the contest. Javaris Wiggins and Anterrious Rhyan each had nine-point performances for Judson. Wiggins made four field goals (1-1 from downtown) and had three rebounds, while Rhyan had four made free throws, three assists, and two rebounds. Sam Stewart had six points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and a steal. He was a perfect 3-3 from the field which included an electrifying putback dunk. Bryton Bissanthe had a three-point, three-rebound performance off the bench.
"Starting off the game with four turnovers really put us in a hole," said Head Coach Bruce Fields. "I liked the fight we had in the second half but it was not enough."
Judson (5-15, 3-9 CCAC) hosts Indiana South Bend on Wednesday at 7:30 at the Lindner Fitness Center.
