Elgin, IL The Judson University Men's Basketball Team earned a tough win on Wednesday as the Eagles came back down double digits early in the second half to defeat St. Ambrose 74-72 to earn their first win on the season.
Judson had a key second-half outscoring St. Ambrose 36-28. Additionally, Judson shot 44% from downtown in the second half to claw back into the contest, and eventually win the game. Anterrious Rhyan led Judson with 21 points, four rebounds, and an assist. Of his eight field goals, four of them were from downtown. Jack Keller was 5-9 from the field and 2-4 from three to score 12 points. He also had five rebounds. Gavin Alson had 11 points, including a made three, and three rebounds. Javaris Wiggins had a strong second half, scoring all 10 points in the frame and adding a rebound and an assist. Judson's bench added 11 points, including Trey Spires scoring six points and adding three assists in 17 minutes of play. Thomas Donati had a strong all-around game with nine points, 13 rebounds, four blocks, two assists, and two steals.
Judson (1-3, 1-0 CCAC) travels to Gary, Indiana to face Indiana Northwest on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
