Mackey's Historic Effort Earns Him NCCAA and MSFA Offensive Player of the Week
Elgin, Ill. The Judson University Football program has learned that Brandon Mackey has won the NCCAA and MSFA Midwest offensive player of the week awards after his historic effort on Saturday. This is the second week in a a row that Mackey has won the MSFA Midwest player of the week honors.
Mackey rushed for a program record 245 yards rushing, and three scores. He averaged 16.3 yards per carry on 15 total carries. His three touhdowns were from 25, 60, and 75 yards out from the end zone. Mackey currently first in the NCCAA in total yards (542) and yards per game (139.5). In the NAIA he ranks second in yard per game and fourth in total yards.
"Brandon has played great for us all year and has been our leading rusher each game this season," said Head Coach Dan Paplaczyk said recently about his star running back. "He refuses to be tackled and many times broke multiple tackles on the same play. His TD runs are the best example of it. He's been a great leader on our team and deserves these awards!"
Judson faces St. Ambrose on the road in Davenport, Iowa on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
