Four Eagles Recognized in MSFA Postseason Awards
Chicago, Ill. Judson University has four football players represented on the 2021 MSFA postseason awards. O'Vauntay Vickers won first-team all-conference, while Chance Cregeen, Franklin Sayers, and Aubrey Williams were honorable mentions.
Vickers led the Eagles with 79 receptions, 1103 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns. Vickers averaged 14 yards-per-catch, 100.3 yards-per-game, and averaged 7.2 receptions per game.
Cregeen was second on the team with 54 total tackles (34 solo, 20 assisted). He averaged 4.9 tackles per game with four tackles for a loss, a sack, and an interception.
Sayers made 47 tackles (fourth on the team) by having 35 solo tackles and 12 assisted tackles. He averaged 4.3 tackles per game with two tackles for a loss, a forced fumble, and an interception.
Williams led the Judson offense with nearly 2500 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and had a 63% completion percentage, and finished with a 135.3 passing efficiency. He was leading the nation in passing yards during the initial weeks of the season.
"These four players have set the foundation for all of our athletes to come after them. It is an honor for them to be recognized by the coaches in our conference and for all of them is well deserved!" said Head Coach Dan Paplaczyk. "O'Vauntay led the league in yards and was a problem for opposing defenders all year. Aubrey led the conference in TDs and yards and led our team throughout the year. On defense, Chance and Trey were an important part of a defense that played a lot better than some of the scores indicated. Our defense held Tumilty to less than 50 yards rushing, and Ke'Von Johnson to less than 100 yards and they were key to that success."
The Judson University Athletic Department congratulates these athletes on their much-deserved recognition.
