Spirit Squad Senior Day Celebration

Spirit Squad Senior Day Celebration

Elgin, IL - On this Saturday afternoon it was Senior Day for the 2023-2024 basketball teams, and the JU Spirit Squad.

For this class, three girls were celebrated by their teammates, coaches, and fans: Eliza Lewis, Isabella Cornejo, and Baylee Stringer

In the words of their coaches:

Eliza Lewis is a 4-year cheer and dance athlete originally from St. Joseph, IL, graduating with an Architecture degree.  Eliza came with a strong cheer background that was very much needed in taking the Spirit Squad to the next level.  Eliza rose to the challenge of also becoming a dancer with our blended team and always took on the challenge with a positive attitude.  Eliza's faith and spirituality has helped shape the Spirit Squad that we have today and will be greatly missed by our team.

Isabella Cornejo is a 2-year cheer and dance athlete from Elgin.  Isabella's dedication and commitment to the team is evident.  She is a steady and reliable teammate who is full of knowledge.  Her strong dance skills are on display every time she performs.  Isabella's kind demeanor makes everyone feel like part of the team and her abilities are foundational to team performances. Her solid consistency and loyalty to the team will be greatly missed.

Baylee Stringer is a 4-year cheer and dance athlete from Flagstaff, Arizona, graduating with an Architecture degree.  Baylee has been a team leader on the Squad, bringing a vast dance background, strong leadership skills, phenomenal work ethic and a great love for the Lord, modeling the ethos of the Spirit Squad.  Baylee also took on the challenge of becoming a cheerleader, in addition to being a dancer.  She has been a key teammate in helping build the strong Spirit Squad that we have today and will be greatly missed.
