Eagles Sweep On Senior Day
Elgin, IL - After sweeping the double header against the Trinity Christian Trolls on Friday, the Eagles found themselves in a good spot at home on Saturday afternoon. It was also Senior Day at Hoffer Field for Judson as well.
In game one, a seven run inning propelled the Eagles to a 12-4 over the Trolls.
The big blow for JU was a Daley Thompson three run home run.
Hudson Deal also had a nice game with two hits and 4 RBIs.
The offense was in support of senior Ryan Risch on the mound. Risch pitched five innings, and struck out six batters. It was his sixth win on the season.
In between games, the Eagles celebrated eight seniors as they took their walk; Max Amendt, Brady Popovich, Hayden Singley, Ryan Risch, Matt Johnston, Trevor Newby, Adrian Nery, and Daley Thompson.
In game two, the Eagles lit up the scoreboard again winning 11-6. For the four game sweep, the Eagles scored 12, 12, 12, and 11 runs.
Daniel Alworth got the win in relief pitching 2.2 scoreless innings.
Kyle Schwartz had two hits and 3 RBIs in the game. Daley Thompson added two more RBIs.
The Eagles will enter the final week of the regular season on a five game winning streak. Judson will take on Calumet for two games, and Indiana South Bend for the final four regular season games. JU is in the hunt for a bye in the CCAC conference playoffs. But, it is no time to coast for the Eagles. The teams are still closely bunched together, so Judson will need to avoid any major slip up in order to make the top six.
With a week to go, Judson stands at 24-19 overall, and 16-10 in conference play.
