A Good Friday Sweep For Eagles
Palos Heights, IL - A pair of comeback victories on Friday afternoon led to a double header sweep for the Eagles over the Trinity Christian Trolls.
With the wins, JU is 22-19 overall, and 14-10 in the conference. with a week left in the regular season, the top half of the CCAC conference is a close bunch. Heading toward the finish line, every win is important for the Eagles.
In game one, Judson got two in the top of the first, but Trinity quickly answered with three in the bottom half. But the Eagles stayed the course. Nico Acevedo was credited with the win in relief.
Allan Navarro belted a home run for Judson. He had two hits and 2 RBI in the game. Hudson Deal added three more hits and an RBI in the win.
The Eagles won game one 12-9.
In game two, Judson was down 2-0 early, but then the bats came to play, as they scored 12 unanswered runs to go onto win 12-2.
Daley Thompson had three hits in the game, including a home run, and seven RBIs to lead Judson.
Kevin Flores and Ryan Pitzer also had three hit games for the Eagles.
Judson had hits up and down the lineup as everyone was seeing the ball well en route to 19 hits in the game.
The effort was in support of Alijah Acevedo who got the win on the mound. He went six innings to get his third win on the season.
The same two teams will play on Saturday afternoon at Hoffer Field. It will be senior day for eight Eagles as Judson looks to take the series from the Trolls.
