Winter Haven, FL - The white hot Eagles began their Spring Break trip in the hot sun of Florida on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles continued to play clean baseball and were able to bring home a victory in thier first of seven games in Florida 5-2 over Valley City State.
Ryan Risch was the star on the mound for JU as he tossed 8 innings, allowing 2 runs ( 1 earned), on four hits with eight strikeouts. With the win, Risch moves to 3-1 on the season.
Matt Johnston walked a bit of a tight rope in the ninth inning, but was able to bring home the save.
The offense was limited to just four hits, but two out hits by Hudson Deal in the 3rd, and Alijah Acevedo in the 5th helped the offense get on the board, and get a lead.
Judson also stole four bases in the game.
Winners of six straight games, the Eagles will get big time tests on Monday as they take on Concordia Nebraska and Northwestern in two contests down in Winter Haven.
