Crestwood, IL - The battle tested Eagles were able to close one out on Tuesday night in the second game of a CCAC double header against the Roosevelt Lakers.
With the victory, JU snapped a skid of 16 defeats in a row. It has been a grind navigating a few injuries, but a win certainly lifts the spirits up in a dugout.
Brady Popovich earned the victory on the mound. He went 6.1 innings, allowing only one earned run, four total, two walks, and struck out seven batters.
In support, the offensive stars were Timothy Ellinger with two RBI's, and Daley Thompson also had two RBI's. Thompson's contribution came via the loud variety with a 7th inning home run to straight away center field.
JU was out-hit in the contest, but they were able to lead in the category that matters most. Senior Max Freund was the lone Eagle with multiple hits in the ballgame.
Kyle Schwartz, who is riding a five-game hitting streak added the fifth RBI for Judson.
This weekend, the Eagles have a four-game set with St. Xavier with home games on Friday, and traveling for two more on Saturday.
