Nelson with Two Hits and RBI, MacLennan RBI Double in 7-3 Loss to Indiana-South Bend
South Bend, IN The Judson University Baseball Team played a midweek contest against Indiana-South Bend. The Eagles took an early lead, but eventually fell to the Titans 7-3.
Judson scored first as Timmy Ellinger hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Ben Nelson to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead. In the second inning, Alec MacLennan hit an RBI double and scored on a Nelson single to give Judson a 3-run advantage. South Bend scored seven times between the fifth and seventh innings to pull away.
Nelson led Judson with two hits and had an RBI. Josh Golibrzuch, Adam Zeratsky, and MacLennan each had a hit for the Eagles. Nelson, MacLennan, and Jordan Babcock scored three runs for the Eagles.
Matthew Johnston pitched three innings, not allowing a run on only one hit, walking two, and striking out five. Jason Klemm (1-2) suffered the loss as he allowed four earned runs and seven hits while striking out three in two innings. Taylor Abercrombie and Hayden Singley each pitched an inning of no-earned-run ball.
Judson (6-16, 3-6 CCAC) travels to Bourbonnais on Friday to face Olivet Nazarene at 3:00 p.m.
