Betancourt and Ellinger Named to NCCAA All-Region Team
Palos Heights, Ill. The NCCAA All-Region Team for Baseball was announced and Judson had two representatives on this squad as pitcher Michael Betancourt and infielder Timothy Ellinger were named to the squad.
Betancourt had a 4-2 overall record with a 3.34 ERA which was sixth in the CCAC this past season. He also had 63 strikeouts, which was also sixth among CCAC pitchers. The true freshman from Carol Stream has proven to be a top of the rotation starter for the next three years at Judson.
Ellinger led the team with a .348 average and added two home runs and 32 RBI along with 26 walks. Ellinger was a junior college transfer from Roscoe, IL, and certainly proved his worth as a key contributor to the team offensively and defensively.
