Judson's first-ever NCCAA Player of the Year, men's soccer standout Tom Ensign played from 1984-87 and is one of the best defenders in program history. He earned NAIA Third Team All-American recognition as a senior, and NCCAA All-American honors as a freshman, junior and a senior. Ensign excelled in the classroom as well, as he was named an NAIA and NCCAA Academic All-American as a junior and a senior. He also earned NIIC All-Conference distinction twice, was named NCCAA All-District all four years, and NAIA All-District his final three years. Ensign was Judson's Scholar Athlete of the Year as a sophomore and was the Male Athlete of the Year as a senior. Ensign also contributed to Judson by helping start the women's soccer program. He coached the school's first women's soccer team in 1993. He coached in 1993 and 1994 and returned for one more season in 1998.
