JERRY GUSE '70
Playing from 1965-69, Jerry Guse is one of the first men's basketball players to play for Judson. Guse finished his career with 1,558 points which makes him the sixth all-time leading scorer in program history. Although Guse played 40 years ago, he continues to remain in the Judson record books. He ranks in the top-10 for career field goals made and attempted, career free throws made and attempted and career free throw percentage. He had his best statistical year as a sophomore when he led the team in scoring, averaging 24.8 points per game, the program's fifth best single-season mark. He made 229 field goals that season, the 10th best single-season total in program history and converted 136 free throws, the ninth best total. He shot an impressive 78 percent from the free throw line (136-176) to lead his team. He also led the team with 56 steals. As a junior, Guse once again shot a team-best 78 percent (74-95) from the free throw line and led his team with 79 assists. As a senior he recorded a 79 percent mark from the charity stripe (72-91).
