A four-year letterman in both men's basketball and baseball, Jason Russell earned several awards his senior year for his play in both sports. The 1992-93 season belonged to Russell as he earned five honors in basketball and two in baseball. The NCCAA All-American first-team selection also was voted the team MVP, NIIC All-Conference, NCCAA All-District, and NAIA All-District. In baseball he was voted onto the NIIC All-Conference team and the NCCAA All-District team. The two-time team MVP for basketball was also an All-NIIC selection in his junior season. By scoring 603 points in his senior season, which is ninth all-time in a single season at Judson, he went past the 1,000 point mark and finished with 1,049 points. From that season, he now sits in three top 10 categories for single season marks. He is third in three-point field goal percentage (49.7%; 1992-93) and sixth in three point field goals made (75; 1992-93) and free throw line percentage (84.1%; 1992-93). He finished his career in basketball playing in 89 games averaging 11.8 points per game. He had 204 assists and 91 steals, and shot 47% from the floor.
