DR. ROBERT HOFFER
Dr. Robert Hoffer's significant contributions to the Judson baseball and softball teams have helped establish legitimate collegiate programs. In the early 1990s, Dr. Hoffer's contributions started the improvement of the baseball field as the field was realigned and a draining system was implemented. Continuing the baseball and softball fields development in 1998, Dr. Hoffer gave to establish fencing for both fields, as well as a batting tunnel, a portable backstop, field screens and various other equipment upgrades. In 1999, Judson was able to buy a John Deere tractor for field maintenance. In 2000 he provided for a press box on the baseball field as the field was officially named Hoffer Field. Last year, Dr. Hoffer gave Judson the lead and matching gift for lights for both fields. Both teams played under the lights beginning last season with the official lights dedication ceremony occurring on April 13, 2004. Dr. Hoffer threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the home baseball game that evening. Most recently, Dr. Hoffer contributed to the building of dugouts for the baseball team. Hoffer is a founding trustee of the college and has a Fox Valley baseball endowed scholarship in his name.
