Eagles Bring First Conference Win Back To Nest

Chicago, IL - After a few days off, The Judson Women's Volleyball team loaded up the vans and headed to conference foe Roosevelt to open CCAC play. In a closely contested battle, the Eagles came away with the four set victory; 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-20. That is now three straint wins for JU bringing their mark to 3-1 overall, and 1-0 in CCAC action.

Senior Lindsay Lawlor (Fishers, IN) was serving up all kinds of dishes as she led the way with 42 assists. While each set was close throughout, it was the Eagles that led Roosvelt in both digs 80-64, and kills 51-49.

The kills were balanced out between the trio of Kara Wicklund, Alyssa Gerzel, and Emmaline Davey. Sophomore Yomailis Fernandez (Guayama, PR) also stepped up with a solid effort for Coach Serewicz' squad.

Also in the contest, a big milestone was reached as senior libero, Kenia Diaz Vega surpassed 1,000 career digs! A special congratulations to her.

The Eagles will now fly back home and have a few days off, before returning to the court with three home matches the week of September 4th. All games will be at the Lindner Center next week.
