Career Win #1 For Head Coach Serewicz

Elgin, IL - Welcome Back weekend was brought indoors on Saturday, August 19th, as the Eagles' Women's Volleyball Team held a Tri-Match to open their season. In the finale, the Blew Crew was packed in tightly, as Judson came away with a victory over the Kuyper College Cougars in 3 sets to none fashion. It was Head Coach Alyssa Serewicz's first career victory as a head coach. The Eagles took the match, 25-12, 25-5, and 25-15 over the Cougars. 

For Judson, senior Lindsay Lawlor (Fishers, IN) led the team with 18 assists. The Eagles were able to control the net from start to finish. The kills were spread out throughout the attack as four players had five or more. Danielle Gibson (Springfield, IL) led the way with six, while Ariadna Marquez (Patillas, PR), Kara Wicklund (Independence, KY), and Emmaline Davey (North Street, MI) all added five each. 

The Eagles, now 1-1 on the young season, as a team also added eight aces in the contest. 

Earlier in the day, the Eagles fought hard, but fell to Mount Mercy three sets to none. In each set, the Eagles made rallies to make things tight, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23. Kenia Diaz Vega (Caguas, PR) led the way with 13 digs in the contest. 

JU will spend the rest of the month on the road, and not return back to campus until September 5th, when they host conference foe St. Ambrose at Lindner Fitness Center.
