Judson Women's Soccer Kicks Off Welcome Weekend On Campus

Elgin, IL - The Judson Women's Soccer Team began their season Thursday on a sunny and breezy afternoon. The Eagles welcomed in the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats to Dawson Field for game one of the 2023-24 season.

While it was a hard fought contest, it was the Wildcats that came away with the 2-0 victory. Indiana Wesleyan scored a goal in each half with Abbey Drahnak scoring at the 36:44 mark. In the second half, Ashley Townsend netted one at the 49:30 mark.

For Judson, freshman goalie Eva Fernandez (Madrid, Spain) tallied three saves in her debut. The Eagles had shots on goal from junior Kelly Leon (Elgin, IL), and junior Denise Jimenez (Chicago, IL).

On the kickoff to welcome weekend for the Judson student body, there was huge support from the Blue Crew in attendance. It should be a great sign of things to come as the new school year gets under way.

The Eagles are back on the pitch, Monday August 21, at noon, as they host Graceland.
