Head Coach Matt Richter is entering his third season with the Eagles program. During his first two seasons, the program has boasted two CCAC conference all-freshmen players, three NCCAA all-region players as well as nine NAIA and NCCAA scholar athlete award winners.
Richter, a native of Phoenix, AZ, attended Valley Lutheran High School before heading to Valparaiso University, where he graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and marketing. Following graduation, he moved back to Arizona where he coached the high school boys’ team for seven years at his alma mater.
Following his experience there, he went on to serve as an assistant coach for two seasons at Arizona Christian University with the Firestorm women’s basketball program. Under head coach Rusty Rogers, Richter specialized in player development and film/scout.
During his stint at ACU, Coach Richter completed a master’s degree in leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2020. From there, he went on to become the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD, where he served for two years.
Coach Richter and his wife, Amber, have three dogs and live in the Hampshire, IL area.
