Eagles Dominate In Conference Opener
Elgin, IL - Coming off of a nice road victory, the Eagles hosted Calumet for their CCAC conference opener. The Eagles came out and dominated from start to finish winning going away 65-34.
It started with pressure and establishing a good inside game. JU forced 26 turnovers, and outrebounded the Wave 48-43.
Bridget Grady and Paula Bernal Rodrigalvarez led the team with seven rebounds each.
Aliyah Kvamme had another stellar game facilitating with six assists.
But in the second half, Judson saw the break out for their sharp shooter, Allyssa Potter. Potter has gotten off to a slow start in the early going, but perhaps on this night, it was the launch of her point scoring ways. Potter tallied 20 points including six 3-pointers made. At one point in the third quarter, she made three 3-points in a 50 second time span. The six 3-pointers made is tied for third most in program history in a single game.
It was a workmen effort for Brooke Heiman who had 13 points and six rebounds. Heiman made some tough baskets driving to the hoop throughout the night.
Jayda Centeno was causing trouble on the defensive side five steals and four rebounds.
Judson's largest lead of the night ballooned to 33 in the second half.
Up next, JU has a fun one when they travel to D-II Indiana Purdue Northwest before hosting St. Xavier on Tuesday in another CCAC matchup before the holiday break.
