Potter's Big Day Not Enough

Elgin, IL - A hot start, and a good shooting night from their freshmen sharp shooter was not meant to be for the Eagles on this day as they fell to the Trinity Christian Trolls 62-57.

On a day that celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports with a special performance from the JU Choir pregame, the Eagles came out fast to a 20-11 First Quarter lead. But, in the end JU came up just a bit short.

The news was not all bad, as the game saw three Eagle starters reach double figures. The scoring was lead by freshmen Allyssa Potter who had 17 points, going 5-10 from long range. Potter is among the CCAC leaders in 3-pointers made, and 3-point percentage this season as a freshmen. Charity Anderson also netted another double digit game with 15 points. Lastly, Easton Kimball added 12 points thanks to going a stellar 8-10 from the free throw line.

Charity Anderson was one rebound away from a double-double with nine total grabs.

JU played will in the first and fourth quarter, but the turnover bug got to them in the middle parts of the game.

The Eagles have two more home games remaining on the season with Senior Day coming this Saturday afternoon. JU will honor three seniors in a ceremony Saturday afternoon.
