Eagles Open Up Conference Play With Big Win

Whiting, IN - With the CCAC Conference opener scheduled for just before Thanksgiving, the Judson Women's Basketball team gobbled up their first win of the season in a big way. The Eagles took down Calumet 59-33. The victory puts them in the win column for the first time this season, and it is also the first career head coaching victory for Head Coach Matt Richter.

The Eagles tough defense held Calumet to single digit points in each of the first three quarters. The sharp-shooting sophomore, Gaby Quintana led the way with 12 points. Freshmen Allyssa Potter added 11 points. Off the bench, Bridget Grady contributed with eight rebounds.

JU doubled up Calumet in shots made 24 to 12, while forcing 26 turnovers. One of the keys of the game was the ability to convert those turnovers into points as Judson had a 24 to 4 advantage in that department.

The Eagles will now enjoy the holiday break and get back on the court next Wednesday at St. Xavier to continue CCAC play.
