Eagles Nearly Erase 20-Point Deficit in 85-73 Loss to Viterbo

Elgin, IL     The Judson University Women's Basketball Team nearly overcame a 20-point third-quarter deficit in an 85-73 loss to Viterbo on Tuesday. 

 

Judson trailed 55-35 at halftime, but the Eagles outscored Viterbo 20-6 in the opening eight minutes of the third quarter to trim the deficit to five. Despite Viterbo extending the lead back to double digits, Judson had one more run in them that brought the score within five in the fourth quarter, but then Viterbo pulled away in the final minutes. 

 

Fueling the offense was Audrey Quintana as she scored 21 points on 9-18 shooting, including going 3-9 from downtown. She added seven rebounds to her effort as well. Carly Scheblo and Easton Kimball each scored 17 points for Judson. Scheblo was 5-5 from the free throw line and added five assists, two rebounds, and two steals. Kimball recorded a double-double by adding 12 rebounds and had a block. Additionally, she was 3-3 from the charity stripe. Sydnie Wolf scored 10 points and added six assists, two rebounds, a block, and a steal. 

 

Judson (3-15) returns to action with a conference game at Trinity International in Deerfield on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
