Eagles Go 2-1 At Bethel Invite

Mishawaka, IN - This weekend the Eagles Men's Volleyball team was across the boarder at the Bethel Pilot Invite. 

The Eagles played well in the event going 2-1. Their record now stands at 5-5 after the first few weeks of the season. 

JU came out with a 3-0 sweep, making quick work of Cumberland in their first match. Elijah Gregg had 13 kills, and Grant Shipley had 4 blocks to highlight that match. 

In game two, they defeated Rio Grande 3-1 with Gregg leading with 16 more kills, and Shipley with 4 more blocks. 

In their finale, they took on the host Bethel Pilots, and claimed the first game 25-23. However, the Pilots were able to claim the next three games in tight fashion to take the match 3-1. Gregg had 19 more kills in the contest. 

Captain Eligh Wrobel collected 109 assists over the three game weekend. Jackson Otto had 37 digs for the weekend. 

Mason Snodgrass was also a key contributor with 33 kills for the weekend. 

The Eagles will now turn their attention to opening CCAC conference play on Tuesday night when they open at ranked St. Xavier. In what figures to be the two teams left standing at the end of the season, they will kick things off in the conference opener against each other.
