Judson Advances to CCAC Semi-Final with Four-Set Win Over St. Ambrose

Elgin, IL    The #3 seed Judson Men's Volleyball Team began post-season play with the CCAC conference tournament against #6 St. Ambrose with a four-set win 25-22,25-18,20-25, 25-19. Judson had an impressive first set overcoming a 19-12 deficit to take the first set. St. Ambrose continued to fight as the Eagles had to overcome a three-point deficit in the second set. Judson took control in the fourth set with a strong performance after trailing early. 

 

Elijah Gregg has continued to lead Judson on the attacking front finishing with 17 kills in addition to six digs, three assists, one block assist, and an ace. Brendan Gibbons was the second player to record double-digit kills with 11. Gibbons also added a block assist to the stat sheet. Mason Snodgrass had eight kills, six digs, and one service ace. Greg Geake swung for seven kills on the right side.  Trevor Kozlowski recorded six kills and a block assist. Oracio Martinez went one for one on kill attempts while having the second-highest digs in the match with ten.

 

Elijah Wrobel assisted 46 kills while getting three of his own. Wrobel's aggressive serves earned him 2 aces while recording five digs and a solo block on defense. Libero Jackson Otto led the Eagles in digs with 12 while adding a pair of assists and an ace to his stat line.

 

Judson will continue the CCAC tournament against #2 seed Olivet Nazarene on Friday at St. Xavier University in Chicago.
