Men's Volleyball Goes on 13-3 Run in Fifth Set to Secure Reverse Sweep Over Calumet

Elgin, IL     The Judson Men's Volleyball Team took on the Crimson Wave of Calumet-St. Joseph as the two teams continue to build a rivalry with intense five-set matches. The Eagles started off slow losing the first set in extra points and the second by a seven-point margin. Judson then proceeded to take the following two sets from Calumet moving into a fifth-set tiebreaker. After being down nine points to two in set five, the Eagles struck a comeback with the victory 15-12 in the five-set match (25-27,18-25,27-25,25-19,15-12).

 

Elijah Gregg achieved a season-high in kills finishing with 17 and having a hitting a .233 hitting percentage. Gregg also had double-digit kills with 11 and one assist. Middle Trevor Kozlowski was close behind with another season-high finishing with 13 kills. Brendan Gibbons had the Eagles highest hitting percentage with .381 recording nine kills for 21 attempts. Gibbons also recorded five digs, five block assists, one solo block, and an ace from the serving line. Greg Geake finished with eight kills, and one dig and led the team with four big solo blocks. Mason Snodgrass scored five kills, 12 digs, three block assists, and two assists. Alejandro Martinez played as the defensive specialist recording nine digs.

 

Elijah Wrobel ended the game with a total of 49 assists, seven digs, three kills, 2 block assists, and solo blocks, as well as a service ace. Jackson Otto achieved 11 digs for Judson while also contributing four assists and a service ace.

 

Judson continues their conference season at Saint Xavier on February 28th.
