Judson Finishes Final Day of Eagle Classic by going 2-1 Beating Maranatha Baptist and Roosevelt

Elgin, IL     The Judson University men's Volleyball Team finished their annual home tournament with an overall record of 3-2. On day two, the Eagles earned wins against Maranatha Baptist 3-0 (25-11,25-7,25-12) and Roosevelt University 3-0 (25-16,25-19,27-25) with their only loss against Cornerstone University 3-1 (22-25,25-23,25-12,25-22).

 

Against Maranatha, three players tied in their contribution of kills. Torrin Ley, Elijah Gregg, and Brendan Gibbons all recorded six kills. Ley played both middle and right in the match, recording a hitting percentage of .444. Gregg was not far behind hitting a .364 in addition to his seven digs, two aces, and a single assist. Gibbons finished perfect when hitting going six for six while also contributing two digs and a block assist. Osiel Cruz had five kills, four digs, and two service aces. Brody Solbrig had three kills, two aces, and pair of solo blocks.

 

Elijah Wrobel set for most of the match accumulating 23 assists, three digs, two kills, a solo block, and a block assist. Aiden Gibbons entered the setting position as well racking up three assists. Jackson Otto had nine digs, two assists, and one service ace as libero.

 

Against Cornerstone, Brendan Gibbons led the team in kills finishing with 14 in addition to a dig and solo block. One kill behind him was Gregg finishing with 13. Gregg recorded eight digs, an assist, and a service ace. Mason Snodgrass added six kills to the Eagles' stat line. He also had four digs, one assist, and one service ace. Ley started in the middle and got five kills. Alejandro Martinez had four kills and 11 digs.

 

Wrobel achieved a regular season high in assists with 41. He also had three digs, two kills, and one service ace. Otto was tied for first in digs for the match finishing with 11 in addition to one assist and an ace.

 

Against Roosevelt, Snodgrass had the highest amount of kills for Judson finishing with ten. He also had seven digs, one block assist, and one assist. Brendan Gibbons had ten kills, a dig, and an ace. Gregg had nine kills, seven digs, and an assist. Kozlowski recorded four kills and one dig.

 

Wrobel assisted 33 kills while contributing three of his own. He also added nine digs, one ace, and one solo block. Otto had nine digs, five assists, and one ace.
