Late Comeback Attempt Falls Short in 72-71 Loss to Viterbo
Elgin, IL. The Judson University Men's Basketball Team played an exciting contest on Wednesday to begin the season. Unfortunately, the Eagles were on the wrong side of the final score with a 72-71 Loss to Viterbo. Judson made a late comeback attempt as Jack Keller nailed a three to pull the Eagles within one with three seconds remaining. Following a pair of missed free throws, Judson had a chance with 2.7 seconds left, but the Eagles were unable to score amid a chaotic series of events.
Jack Keller led Judson in scoring with 19 points and added three assists, two rebounds, and a block. Keller made three of six three-point attempts and was 8-16 from the field. Javaris Wiggins had 10 points on 4-10 shooting and added a three-pointer along with a free throw. Thomas Donati had a 10-point game as he had seven rebounds and four blocks in the contest as well along with two assists and a steal. Anterrious Rhyan made his Judson debut by going 4-11 from the field and adding six rebounds and five assists to his nine points overall.
Judson (0-1) travels to Huntington for a weekend tournament on Friday and Saturday.
