Central Florida The Judson University Eagles continued the first quarter of their trip to Florida as the Eagles fell to Point Park 20-2 and 6-4 on Sunday while falling to Webber International 10-0. All games were seven innings in length.
In Sunday's opener, Judson's runs came in the third and fifth innings. Ben Nelson hit a home run to right-center in the third inning, while Jordan Babcock scored on an error in the fifth inning. Austin McNamara made his first Eagles start and allowed seven earned (nine total) runs on six hits, while allowing six hits and striking out two.
In the second contest, Judson took a 3-0 lead in the first inning with RBI singles from Mitchell Stempowski (scoring Gio Davila) and Jake Angelo (scoring Adam Zeratsky and Stempowski). Judson's other run came in the sixth inning with a Stempowski RBI groundout that plated Davila. Hayden Singley allowed three earned runs (four total) in an inning of work to take the loss. Jason Klemm and Zach Rojas each had scoreless relief appearances of over an inning.
Against Weber, Judson had a pair of hits as Golibrzuch and Zeratsky each had base hits. Taylor Abercrombie allowed five earned runs (six total) while allowing nine hits and walking three.
Judson returns to action on Tuesday as the Eagles travel to Warner for a twin bill.
