Hoffer Field

Hoffer Field serves as the home of the Judson University Eagles. With recently upgraded facilities, it is one of the top facilities in the Midwest. Laid along the Fox River, Hoffer Field offers a unique view for fans. The tree line and river beyond the wooden outfield wall provides a beautiful backdrop. Fans are greeted with elevated seating and view through a pro elevated netting backstop. Beyond the backstop, players and fans alike witness a newly installed Field Turf infield, complete with turf mound and plate areas that was renovated in 2014. The wood fence encloses Hoffer Field and gives the facility a 'Minor League' feel.

Our field is the "Heart" of campus thanks to the original fence being in the shape of a heart in order to fit in line with the river.

Hoffer Field was built for the baseball player. Hitters take advantage of two turfed batting cages (30x75), while pitches work beyond the outfield wall in a newly renovated bullpen area. The bullpens offer 200 feet of space for standard long toss, arm care, and pen area. The bullpen area features turf mounds, walkways, and a catchers' area.

The friendly yard features distances of LF:320, CF:400, RF:300, with power alleys measuring 370 feet from home plate. Hoffer Field has limited foul territory.

Hoffer Field's installation of Stadium lights makes Hoffer Field one of the most sought after fields in the Midwest to host summer and championship tournaments.

Much of the fields' beauty and play are a result of The Hoffer Foundation's commitment to the facility. Hoffer Field is named after Robert A. and Helen Hoffer, who founded Hoffer Plastics Corporation in 1953. The local Elgin, IL company started in a 40'x60' building with a second-hand molding machine. Hoffer Plastics Corporation now features a 365,000 square foot campus on over 24 acres. For over 55 years, the growth of Hoffer Plastics has been felt throughout the entire Elgin community, where Hoffer Plastics continually supports numerous community projects. The Hoffer name reflects family, integrity, service, and trust in everything they touch.

Robert A. Hoffer was inducted into the Judson Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005 for his contributions to the university. He is a founding trustee of the college and has a Fox Valley baseball endowed scholarship in his name.
